The rise of agentic workloads, where LLMs write software for you, has changed the game on database design. Since LLMs are stateless, there’s a growing need to create small and affordable databases on the fly. Each prompt can have its own database.

Turso Cloud makes this possible. It gives users access to thousands of databases, making it the ideal database to build such applications. That is why companies like Adaptive have chosen the Turso Cloud and created over 2 million databases, and Mastra have embedded Turso as the default database option for their framework.

But the most common feedback we’ve received is this: database limits in our plans discourage builders from building. Knowing that the success of your app would force you into the next pricing tier has made some hesitate. Builders kept asking us for a per-database pricing over the plan limit. And, I seriously considered it.

But with the 4th of July just around the corner, it hit me: shouldn’t people have the freedom to build, build, build?

So today, I am announcing:

This 4th of July is Database Freedom Day.

Starting on the 4th of July, anybody in any paid plan of the Turso Cloud will be able to create unlimited databases. Instead, each plan will have a limit of monthly active databases, which aligns your success to ours, and you will be able to pay for the monthly active databases over the plan allowance.

Here’s the breakdown:

PlanPrice / monthIncluded Active DatabasesCost per Additional Active DB
Developer$4.99500$0.10
Scaler$24.922,500$0.05
Pro$416.5810,000$0.025

Feed them to your favorite LLM. Build however many apps you desire. Let the models write as much code as you want, and give them each a database.

Celebrate your Independence Day, Celebrate Database Freedom!

If you upgrade your plan between now and the 4th of July, to get your first month FREE with the coupon DATABASEFREEDOM.
